Shipping & Logistics FAQs

Everything you need to know about ENorth Logistics services, solutions, and support.

Canada and North America | FTL Carrier | Logistics Solutions

01  |  General Questions

ENorth Logistics is a Canadian carrier and logistics solutions provider operating across Canada and North America. Our primary service is full truckload shipping, which we self-perform with our own equipment and drivers. Beyond FTL, we offer a broad range of logistics solutions and, where client needs fall outside our direct capabilities, we connect them to qualified carriers within our trusted partner network. We are not a broker. We are a carrier first, with the reach and relationships to solve complex supply chain challenges.

ENorth Logistics operates across all of Canada and throughout North America. Our lanes cover every major Canadian corridor, including east to west and cross-border movements into the United States. Whether your freight moves between Toronto and Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary, or across the Canada-US border, we have the capacity and carrier relationships to make it happen. Our network ensures consistent coverage regardless of volume or destination. No region across Canada or North America is outside our reach.

We are not a freight broker. ENorth Logistics is a licensed carrier that self-performs its primary service, full truckload shipping, using owned equipment and employed drivers. Brokers arrange freight on behalf of shippers without taking operational responsibility. We take direct responsibility for every FTL shipment we handle. For services outside our direct scope, we connect clients to vetted network partners, but we remain your single point of accountability throughout.

Yes. ENorth Logistics operates on two levels: direct freight services and broader logistics solutions. Our services include FTL, and our solutions encompass platform-based freight management, fulfillment coordination, inventory visibility, and supply chain optimization. Clients looking for a single carrier get a carrier. Clients looking to overhaul their entire logistics operation get a solutions partner. We scale our involvement to match what each client actually needs.

Our partner network is a curated group of qualified carriers and logistics providers we have vetted for service quality, safety compliance, and reliability. When a client requires a service we do not directly perform, such as LTL, warehousing, sea freight, or last-mile delivery, we connect them to the right partner from this network. Every partner is held to ENorth standards. We do not refer clients blindly. The network exists so that no client ever has to go looking for a second provider on their own.

ENorth Logistics has built its reputation through consistent performance across Canadian and North American freight markets. Our team brings decades of combined carrier and logistics experience to every client relationship. We do not just move freight. We engineer supply chain outcomes that compound in value over time. Reach out to our team directly for a full background on our history and service milestones.

Absolutely. Our solutions are designed to scale in both directions. A growing manufacturer shipping three loads per week gets the same quality of account management and service execution as a national retailer moving hundreds of loads per month. We build freight programs around your actual volume and growth trajectory, not a one-size-fits-all rate card. ENorth Logistics grows with you.

Yes. We work with clients on long-term contracted lanes and on spot freight requirements. Contracted clients benefit from dedicated capacity, predictable pricing, and priority service. Spot shipments are accommodated through our network when capacity is available. Most clients start with a mix and migrate to contracted lanes as their volumes stabilize. Our team will help you determine the right structure from the start.

02  |  Freight & Transportation Services

Full truckload shipping means your freight occupies an entire trailer, moving directly from origin to destination without stops or consolidation at intermediate hubs. It is faster, more secure, and more cost-effective per unit at volume compared to shared freight options. ENorth Logistics self-performs FTL because it is the most controllable and reliable service category in the market. When we own the truck, the driver, and the route, we own the outcome. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Less-than-truckload shipping is not a service ENorth Logistics self-performs. However, clients who need LTL can access this service through our partner network. We connect you to a qualified LTL carrier that meets ENorth standards, and we remain your point of contact throughout. You do not need to source a separate provider. We handle the coordination so your freight experience stays consistent regardless of shipment size.

Flatbed transportation is available through the ENorth Logistics partner network. We work with vetted flatbed carriers experienced in oversized loads, construction equipment, steel coils, lumber, and other non-conveyable freight. Your account manager handles the coordination end to end. Just provide the freight specifications and we take it from there.

Temperature-controlled freight is supported through our partner network. Whether you are moving fresh produce, frozen goods, pharmaceuticals, or other temperature-sensitive products, we connect you to qualified reefer carriers operating to the right standards. Cold chain integrity is non-negotiable. Every partner handling refrigerated freight through our network is screened for compliance, equipment condition, and monitoring capabilities.

Sea freight coordination is available through our partner network for clients moving international shipments. We connect businesses to trusted ocean freight partners for both full container load and less-than-container-load movements. This is particularly useful for clients importing goods into Canada or exporting to international markets. Your ENorth account manager facilitates the referral and helps ensure your freight requirements are clearly communicated to the right partner.

Ground freight is core to everything we do. Our self-performed FTL operations are the foundation of our ground freight capability. Extended ground coverage for LTL, regional distribution, and last-mile delivery is available through partner carriers in our network. Together, these capabilities give you complete ground freight coverage across Canada and North America under one account relationship.

Yes. Cross-border freight between Canada and the United States is well within our operational scope. Our team has deep experience with customs documentation, PAPS, PARS, and ACE filing requirements on both sides of the border. We actively manage compliance to prevent delays at the crossing. For clients new to cross-border shipping, we walk you through every requirement before your first load moves.

Our experience spans manufactured goods, automotive parts and assemblies, retail products, food and beverage, electronics, industrial materials, construction supplies, and chemical cargo. Each commodity type carries its own compliance, handling, and equipment requirements. We match every shipment to the right equipment and operating standards. Our account managers will review your specific commodity profile during onboarding.

Expedited freight is available through our partner network for time-critical shipments that cannot wait for standard transit timelines. Same-day and next-day ground moves, as well as priority capacity arrangements, can be facilitated through our network carriers. Reach out to your account manager as early as possible when an expedited need arises. Speed costs less when we have advance notice.

Hazardous materials shipments require specific licensing, placarding, documentation, and driver training. ENorth Logistics can support hazmat freight through qualified partners in our network who are certified to Transport Canada and DOT standards. Provide the UN number, hazard class, and quantity during your inquiry so we can match your freight to the right carrier immediately.

03  |  Warehousing & Inventory Management

Warehousing is available through our partner network. We connect clients to vetted warehouse operators across key Canadian markets for storage, cross-docking, and distribution needs. Your ENorth account manager coordinates the referral and remains your point of contact. You deal with one team, not multiple providers.

Yes. Inventory management is a core component of the ENorth Logistics solutions platform. Clients using our fulfillment and warehousing solutions gain real-time inventory visibility through our system, which tracks stock levels, movements, receipts, and order allocations. You always know what you have, where it is, and when it needs to be replenished. Inventory accuracy directly supports faster order fulfillment and fewer costly stockouts.

Our platform consolidates inventory data across storage locations into a single view accessible to your team at any time. Stock levels update in real time as goods are received, picked, packed, and shipped. Alerts notify your team when thresholds are reached, preventing stockouts before they occur. The system integrates with your order management workflow so inventory and fulfillment stay in sync automatically.

Cross-docking is a logistics process where inbound freight is transferred directly to outbound transport with minimal or no storage time in between. It reduces warehousing costs and accelerates delivery timelines. ENorth Logistics supports cross-docking through our partner warehouse network. It is a particularly effective model for high-velocity retail goods, perishable products, and time-sensitive distribution. Your account manager can assess whether cross-docking is the right fit for your freight profile.

Returns management and reverse logistics are supported through our partner network. We coordinate the inbound movement of returned goods, inspection, restocking, and disposal or liquidation as required. A clear reverse logistics process protects your inventory records and reduces shrinkage. Talk to your account manager about your returns volume and we will build the right process around it.

Inbound freight handled through our warehouse partners follows a structured receiving process including count verification, damage inspection, system entry, and proper put-away to designated storage locations. All receipts are documented in the platform and reflected in your inventory balance immediately. Discrepancies between expected and received quantities are flagged for immediate resolution. You have visibility into every receipt as it happens.

Yes. Our warehouse network accommodates both short-term overflow storage and long-term dedicated storage arrangements. Seasonal businesses benefit from flexible storage capacity that scales with their peak periods. Year-round clients can lock in dedicated space for consistent availability. Tell us your storage requirements during onboarding and we will match you to the right facility and contract structure.

04  |  Fulfillment & Amazon FBA Services

Yes. Order fulfillment is part of the ENorth Logistics solutions offering. We manage the pick, pack, and ship process for client orders through our partner fulfillment network, all coordinated through the ENorth platform. Orders placed through your sales channels connect to fulfillment automatically. Your customers receive accurate, on-time shipments without you managing the warehouse floor.

Amazon FBA prep involves preparing inventory to meet Amazon's specific labeling, packaging, bundling, and palletizing requirements before goods are sent to Amazon fulfillment centers. ENorth Logistics provides Amazon FBA prep services through our fulfillment partners. Errors in FBA prep result in rejected shipments, storage fees, and delays that hurt your seller metrics. We handle the preparation to Amazon standards so your inventory arrives right the first time.

Yes. We manage inbound shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers across Canadian and US markets. Our team coordinates freight to the specific Amazon facility designated for your inventory, following all inbound shipping requirements. Whether you are sending a full truckload or a smaller inbound shipment, we handle the logistics from your supplier or our warehouse to Amazon's door. Your FBA inventory levels stay stocked without you managing the freight.

Ecommerce fulfillment through ENorth Logistics works by connecting your online store to our fulfillment system so that orders trigger picks and packs automatically. We manage storage, kitting, packing, carrier selection, and tracking updates back to your platform. Same-day shipping capabilities are available for orders received within daily cutoff windows. Your customers see accurate tracking from the moment their order is fulfilled.

Same-day shipping is available for orders placed within the designated daily cutoff time at our partner fulfillment locations. Eligibility depends on the destination zone, carrier availability, and inventory readiness. We build fulfillment workflows that maximize your same-day window so the largest possible share of your daily orders ships that day. This matters enormously for customer satisfaction and repeat purchase rates.

Yes. Kitting and custom packaging are supported through our fulfillment partners. Whether you need products bundled, branded inserts added, or gift-wrap options fulfilled, we build the right workflow in your fulfillment program. Accurate kitting increases the perceived value of your shipment and reduces downstream returns. Your account manager will document the kitting requirements before your first order ships.

Fulfillment performance is tracked through the ENorth platform, which records order receipt, processing time, ship time, carrier scan, and delivery confirmation for every order. You have visibility into fill rates, on-time ship rates, and exception rates at any time. Regular performance reviews identify opportunities to improve speed or accuracy. You always know how your fulfillment operation is performing against the target.

05  |  Tracking & Logistics Technology

Every active FTL shipment we operate is tracked in real time through GPS monitoring, with status visible through your client portal. Driver check-ins at key transit milestones provide additional confirmation of progress. Exception alerts notify your team immediately if a delay risk is detected. You know where your freight is at every stage without having to call in.

Yes. The ENorth Logistics platform gives clients a single interface for freight management, inventory tracking, order fulfillment oversight, and reporting. All activity across your account is centralized in one view. You can request spot quotes, monitor active shipments, review inventory levels, and access historical data from the same system. It removes the operational friction that comes from managing multiple systems and providers.

Yes. Spot freight quotes can be requested directly through the platform by entering your lane details, commodity information, and required ship date. Our team reviews the request and responds with pricing and available capacity. For recurring lanes, we recommend transitioning to contracted rates, which typically deliver better pricing and guaranteed capacity. The platform supports both models.

The platform generates reports on shipment history, transit times, on-time performance, freight spend by lane and period, inventory levels and movements, and fulfillment metrics. Data is available in real time and can be exported for internal reporting. Regular business review reporting is also prepared by your account manager. Good data leads to better freight decisions, and we make sure you always have it.

The ENorth platform is designed to connect with common ERP, WMS, and ecommerce systems. Integration options are discussed during onboarding based on your existing technology stack. Our implementation team works with your team to ensure data flows cleanly between systems. You should not have to re-enter the same information in two places. We eliminate that friction from day one.

Inventory levels in our system update in real time as transactions occur, whether those are inbound receipts, outbound picks, adjustments, or cycle counts. You access your inventory data through the client portal at any time without requesting a report. Low stock thresholds trigger alerts so you can reorder before a stockout affects your customers. Real-time visibility is not a feature upgrade. It is a baseline expectation.

The platform consolidates shipment and inventory data across all your locations, lanes, and fulfillment points into a unified view. You can filter by origin, destination, carrier, or date range to get the precise view you need at any moment. Multi-location clients find this especially valuable during peak periods when shipment volume across their network increases significantly. Everything is visible in one place.

06  |  Pricing & Quotes

You can request a quote through our website contact form, by emailing our team directly, or through the client portal if you are an existing customer. Provide the origin, destination, commodity type, weight, and required ship date and our team will respond promptly. For FTL requests, quotes are typically returned same business day. We believe fast quoting is part of delivering good service.

Freight rates are influenced by lane distance, fuel prices, equipment type, freight class, weight, volume, and current market capacity. Seasonal demand also affects rate availability, particularly for peak periods in retail, agriculture, and construction. Contracted lanes provide rate stability that protects you from market fluctuations. Your account manager will walk you through the factors specific to your lane mix.

Yes. Contracted rates are available for clients with consistent lane volumes and are strongly recommended for businesses that move freight regularly. Contracted pricing delivers predictability in your freight budget and priority capacity access during tight market periods. Spot rates fluctuate with the market, but contracted clients are insulated from those swings. We will always be transparent about which pricing structure makes more sense for your volume.

No. We do not build our pricing around surprise accessorial charges or fees that appear after the shipment delivers. Every applicable charge, including fuel surcharges, detention, and lumper fees if applicable, is disclosed upfront in your rate structure. You will not open an invoice and see a line item you never discussed. Transparent pricing is not a marketing claim at ENorth Logistics. It is policy.

A spot freight quote is a one-time rate for a single shipment not covered by a contracted lane. Spot rates are useful when you have an unplanned load, a one-time lane, or overflow volume beyond your contracted commitment. Spot rates are subject to market conditions and may be higher during periods of tight capacity. We recommend spot quoting for occasional freight and contracted rates for recurring volume.

Volume-based pricing is built into contracted rate structures. The more consistent your lane volumes, the stronger your rate position with us. We review your volume profile during the quoting process and structure pricing to reflect your committed freight. Growth in your volume is always rewarded. Contact your account manager to discuss a rate review if your shipping volumes have increased significantly.

FTL quote requests submitted during business hours typically receive a response within the same business day. Complex multi-lane RFP submissions may take one to two business days to price accurately. We prioritize speed in quoting because we know your freight decisions have timelines attached to them. If a quote is urgent, flag it when you submit and our team will treat it accordingly.

07  |  Industries We Serve

ENorth Logistics serves manufacturing, automotive, retail and ecommerce, food and beverage, construction and building materials, electronics, pharmaceutical, industrial, and chemical sectors across Canada and North America. Each industry brings distinct freight requirements, compliance standards, and time sensitivity. Our team has direct experience across all of these verticals, which means we understand your freight challenges before you explain them.

Manufacturing clients benefit from dedicated FTL capacity on inbound raw material lanes and outbound finished goods lanes. We synchronize freight schedules with production calendars to prevent line stoppages caused by late deliveries. Just-in-time delivery programs are built around your production requirements. Reliable inbound and outbound freight is the backbone of a healthy manufacturing operation, and we treat it accordingly.

Yes. Automotive supply chain logistics requires zero tolerance for delays, precise sequencing, and carriers who understand the cost of a missed delivery at the plant level. ENorth Logistics has direct experience serving Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers across the Ontario corridor and beyond. Our performance standards in this vertical are built around the reality that a late load in automotive is not just inconvenient. It is a line shutdown.

Yes. Food and beverage freight involves temperature control, regulatory compliance, food safety standards, and precise delivery scheduling. Our partner network includes carriers qualified for temperature-sensitive food products. We understand the consequences of a missed delivery window in grocery and food service. Your freight program is built with the same level of care your customers expect from your product.

Yes. Construction materials often require flatbed, step-deck, or other specialized equipment, as well as careful coordination with job site delivery windows. We connect construction and building materials clients to the right equipment through our partner network. Missed deliveries in construction cost you crew time and schedule delays. We build freight programs around your project timelines, not the other way around.

Electronics require clean, dry, temperature-appropriate equipment, careful handling procedures, and enhanced security protocols for high-value loads. We match electronics freight to qualified carriers with the right equipment and compliance history. Cargo insurance coordination is available for shipments requiring elevated coverage. We take the same care with your high-value freight that you take in manufacturing it.

08  |  Support, Onboarding & Contact

Getting started begins with a conversation. Contact our team through the website, by phone, or by email and a logistics specialist will schedule a discovery call to understand your freight profile, lanes, volume, and service requirements. We then prepare a customized proposal and walk you through it together. Onboarding is structured so that your first shipment moves without friction. We make the setup simple on purpose.

Onboarding includes account setup, rate agreement finalization, carrier and lane assignment for contracted clients, platform access provisioning, and a walkthrough of reporting and tracking tools. Most clients are operationally ready within five to ten business days from agreement signing. We assign a dedicated account manager from day one so you always have a name and a direct contact. You will not get a call centre when you need answers.

Yes. Every ENorth Logistics client is assigned a dedicated account manager who owns your relationship, understands your freight program, and is your primary point of contact for all service matters. This means no rotating contacts, no explaining your business from scratch every time you call, and no falling through the cracks. Your account manager is accountable for your program performance.

Our team is available during standard business hours for account management, quoting, and general inquiries. For clients with active freight in transit, we maintain after-hours support to manage exceptions and emergencies. Active shipments are monitored continuously by our dispatch team. Your freight does not stop at 5pm, and neither does our responsibility for it.

Service issues are reported directly to your account manager, who initiates an immediate response and coordinates resolution. We document every exception, conduct a root cause analysis, and share findings with you along with the corrective action taken. We do not minimize service failures. We address them directly and use them to improve. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Our partner network includes established carriers such as FedEx, TForce, and TST, alongside a broader group of vetted regional and national carriers across Canada and the United States. Every partner in our network has been qualified through a review of their safety record, insurance standing, service history, and operational standards. We stand behind every referral we make.

Invoicing and payment terms are established during onboarding based on your account structure. We offer standard net payment terms and can accommodate specific billing cycles that align with your accounts payable process. Invoices are itemized and transparent with no surprise charges. Your account manager will walk you through the billing setup during onboarding so there are no questions when the first invoice arrives.

Yes. Scalability is built into how we structure every client program. As your volume increases, we expand capacity allocation, adjust contracted lane commitments, and add services through our solutions platform and partner network. Growth does not create friction in your freight program when ENorth Logistics is managing it. We plan for your future volume from the very first conversation.

You can reach our team by emailing info@enorthlogistics.com, calling us directly, or completing the contact form on our website. We respond to all inquiries within one business day, and most responses go out the same day. If your need is urgent, say so in your message and we will prioritize accordingly. We are ready when you are.
